2007.09.28 / Reading / Aphorisms in Finnish and English
Sarah says: "Just spoke to some nice Finnish ladies who are part of a writer's group here. They are going to do a small reading on the terrace on Sunday, an hour or so before sunset...''

On Sunday 30 September Atlantis Books was delighted to welcome a group of friendly writers from the Summer University of Häme in Finland. The writers had attended a summer seminar on Santorini, focusing on aphoristic writing. They read their own lyrical and thought-provoking compositions, and we also gave out cards with aphorisms by famous writers for the audience and writers to read aloud. Wine and nibbles were consumed happily.

Particularly memorable Finnish aphorisms of the evening were:

A man's soul has no age, especially in dementia.

and

Make love, not children.

Watch this space for more Finnish aphorisms and some photos.

Many thanks to our visitors!
