Friend of the Bookshop, Federica Torri, is opening her very own bookshop tomorrow (logo and website designed by William, site hosted by Quinn) in Santarchangelo di Romagna (just off the main square). The inauguration is tomorrow afternoon for anyone in town (facebook: libreria the book room, or www.thebookroom.it).
Congratulations to Federica, from everyone at Atlantis Books.

Author J. D. Salinger died today.
Raise high the roof beam, carpenters. Like Ares comes the bridegroom, taller far than a tall man.
And I will raise a Glass to him, asking that he please accept from me this unpretentious bouquet of very early-blooming parentheses: (((())))

Yes, an entire year went by with no updates. But here we are. We are 6 (éxi, six, sex) years old, ladies and gentlemen. We are The Smallest Perfect Number.
Happy Birthday to Craig. And for that matter, Happy Birthday to everyone over the last year. But mostly to you, Craig. The rest are belated.
We'll try to make this the best 2010 since back in 2010 B.C. when Ur was the largest city in the World.

It's the 5th Anniversary of Atlantis Books today, and the 28th Anniversary of Craig Walzer. While Craig reaches the atomic number of nickel and number of dominoes in a standard set, Atlantis Books begins kindergarten where it will learn letter and sight word recognition as well as the ability to communicate, play, and interact with others appropriately. Best of luck, kids.

Our very own Craig Walzer has a book coming out! Tremendous effort went into the compilation of the book and we couldn't be more proud. Amazon.com says November 15 is when it drops, but we're still unsure. Check back for updates or see the Voice of Witness website.

As the summer moved on, so did the men in our lives. So we called ourselves the Ladies' Shop for the month of August. Sure, Luke, Russell, and John stopped in, but three Frenchies and a Yankee ruled the roost, all the while attempting to keep the shop's soundtrack gender-neutral. We did indulge ourselves with a petite Madonna dance party one evening -- after the shop had closed, of course. Our days are filled with sun, sea, yoghurt, Edwin's, and good reads; our nights with moonlit swims and G&Ts. My, how the Ladies are content.

Ella and I are beginning to feel right at home in the shop. This lifestyle has brought out pipedreams and aspirations to the tune of cross-continent strolls and travel pacts between cousins. Mattie has arrived and the trio of ladies has kept the shop in order. Luke and Rusty Nail pop their heads in often, while John is in and out (Raki & Francis trailing close behind.) In other news, turns out Ella makes one helluva lasagna. Feast your eyes..

Let the rookie season commence! Ella & Madeleine took charge late May and will hold down the fort 'till August. Frequent gyro-runs to Edwin's Polski Lokal, sunsets on the terrace nightly, two poetry readings, and one killer solstice party on Kolombos beach give us a good feeling about what's to come. A nod from the couple from Fodor's and an engagment in the backroom while the Beatles played have kept things interesting. The honeymooners have returned to Bklyn. Welcome Dan, Yael, Jack (broseph), Christina & Joyce!

Dear all,
We're in, baby.
This afternoon, Maria and I returned from the streets above, with a key to a lovely little building in the lovely little square in the center of our lovely little town of Oia.
So we've been drinking champagne and getting very excited about building a bookshop. It's a beautiful day of bright sun and brisk wind and we're spinning in circles on the glimmering terrace. We're setting the alarm clock for 9 and laying out our work clothes for the morning.
Wishing you were here. Can't wait for you all to come and see what develops.

Updates have been scarce indeed recently... apologies... though a number of projects have jostled for computing priority recently:
Our first season report is now available, and can be viewed here.
We’ve also just finished putting together our first publication - Atlantis Books: The Seminal Voyage. Printed under our own roof, assembled by hand, and bound using an antique sewing machine, it gives a brief, fragmentary account of the people, places and events that have shaped the project in its first year. Email us if you’d like to order a copy, or better still, come by and pick one up from the store.
At last, the video of the AB-Sharps' legendary rooftop performance is available to download.
Hello to Tim and Jenny; currently galavanting around Europe, their departure marks the beginning of the summer exodus. Suddenly it’s disconcertingly quiet round here... Come back malakas!
Ah, the sisters McBride... here’s Clara’s Journal entry.
